Tasty Tuesday (on Wednesday)

Hi!
I took a "day off" yesterday to go to Charlottetown so I wasn't able to post.  Wednesdays I help out with the breakfast program at school, so it's a nice day for me not to blog. And also to catch up, when I'm not able to do it on Tuesday. ;-)

Today, is busier than usual b/c DS and DD have dentist appointments this afternoon and this evening DS has Scouts. Scouts is usually on Tuesdays in town (Summerside, a 25 min drive away) along with DD's figure skating here in the Valley. In the winter, HH would take DS to Scouts and he'd study at the library. I'd take DD to skating.  Skating ended in March so now I've been taking DS to Scouts and doing my shopping. This saves one 50 min drive to Summerside and back. At first, I missed my trip to town during the day on Tuesday, but it makes sense to make only one trip. And, I always seem to have plenty of time to shop for what we need (rather than browse around for what we may want!).  For meal planning, this means I have to have stuff on hand to make next week's Mon and Tues meals. That's why I usually make pasta or fish because we almost always have those at home or I make something I didn't get around to making the previous week. ;-)

The grocery experiment from last week (shopping without consulting the flyers) yielded about the same result as with the flyers. I spent $147 at one store.  I still bought things not on the list, though, and got a few things to freeze b/c they were on sale.  I think I'll stick with the flyers, but this week I only wrote down 2 things that were on sale that we need.

I'm a bit stuck for what to have on the weekend. I didn't make it to the library yesterday for my magazine inspiration...
