Patio/Breezeway

Hi!

I've slowed down on my blogging... Not sure why exactly?  Maybe because I've got no new projects on the go and the things I'm doing are just the regular things I do every year....

Such as clean up the patio.
Here it is a couple days ago.

We had a great weekend, weather wise so I cleaned up all the dead branches, leaves, etc. from the back and front gardens.
I moved the little lavender plant (again) because it was getting crowded by the hardy oregano.  I moved it beside the sage and chives.
I took our patio table  inside the breezeway for the winter.  It's in the above picture laying on its side, upside down. When I took the legs off, I remember thinking, "I must keep track of these nuts, so I'll put them in a little baggie".  However, now I can't find it and I'm wondering why I didn't just screw the nuts onto the bolts on the legs!

I cleaned out the breezeway.
This is the "After"!

Inside the courtyard's pineapple door, is this little space that leads to K's office.
It's also cleaned up, but still, so much junk!

The angled shelf is new....

And here is our crazy tool bench!

I hung out our first load of laundry to dry on Saturday!
We're a bit ahead of last year's weather, snow-wise.

There was no school on Friday for the kids and the same this week! N is sick today with a fever so he's home with me. ;-(

Hope you are healthy and have a great week! :-)

Gardens/Yard

Hi!

The projects have been pretty nonexistent around here lately, but the gardens (and grass) are doing their thing and growing like crazy.

Here are some pics from around the yard.

Here's the left side garden.

Here is is June 2.

This garden is pretty, but usually the car parks here and blocks it.

Notice I (kinda) covered the garbage cans with the piece of cedar fencing that used to cover the Canoe-zzi.
It was temporarily beside the playhouse back in May.

K planted pumpkins in the left side yard.

On a side note, when I was taking pictures, I discovered the cats had captured a cute little fat mouse.

Plus there were 4 tiny dead voles on the patio!  Oh, the joys of country living! ;-) (At least they are good hunters, though, and we don't have mice/voles living in our house!)

Have a great weekend! :-)

How does your Garden grow?

Aah, the weekend's over.

It's the last full week of summer before school starts.  Last Thursday, the kids and I went with my MIL to Charlottetown to be tourists for the afternoon.  We took the Harbour Hippo for a tour.

After, we got apple fries at The Chip Shack.

Meanwhile, back here at the cottage, our gardens have been growing!

Here are the front flower beds.

Here's how they used to look at the beginning of June.

The hydrangea on the right has way more blooms on it. I'm not sure if it's because I planted it about 2 weeks earlier than the left one or because it gets more sun in the afternoon.  I hope the little one will catch up soon! Also, the plants in front of the hydrangeas send out creepers- not sure what it's called.  I got that plant (along with the bleeding heart plant in the corner below) from my FIL.  I thought he'd be pleased to see them finally planted.  But one day he came up with a friend who told him to tell me I should get rid of those plants because they'll overtake the hydrangeas! He also told me he had some in his yard.  So, I reminded him that he's the one who gave them to me! Funny!  Anyway I think I'll split the green plant that turns red in the fall and put that where the creeping plants are.  I don't know where I'll put them...

Update: The flowers aren't sending out creepers, the creepers are separate plants- perhaps called Four o'clocks, because they have flowers that bloom at that time. I'll try to get rid of them and keep the other plant!

Here's the corner flower bed now.

Here's how it looked at the beginning of June!

Here's the herb/veggie garden by the back patio.

Before:

We even have (green) tomatoes!

As usual, I'm always amazed at how fast things grow!

Enjoy your week! :-)
