Aah, the weekend's over.
It's the last full week of summer before school starts. Last Thursday, the kids and I went with my MIL to Charlottetown to be tourists for the afternoon. We took the Harbour Hippo for a tour.
After, we got apple fries at The Chip Shack.
Meanwhile, back here at the cottage, our gardens have been growing!

Here are the front flower beds.
Here's how they used to look at the beginning of June.

The hydrangea on the right has way more blooms on it. I'm not sure if it's because I planted it about 2 weeks earlier than the left one or because it gets more sun in the afternoon. I hope the little one will catch up soon! Also, the plants in front of the hydrangeas send out creepers- not sure what it's called. I got that plant (along with the bleeding heart plant in the corner below) from my FIL. I thought he'd be pleased to see them finally planted. But one day he came up with a friend who told him to tell me I should get rid of those plants because they'll overtake the hydrangeas! He also told me he had some in his yard. So, I reminded him that he's the one who gave them to me! Funny! Anyway I think I'll split the green plant that turns red in the fall and put that where the creeping plants are. I don't know where I'll put them...
Update: The flowers aren't sending out creepers, the creepers are separate plants- perhaps called Four o'clocks, because they have flowers that bloom at that time. I'll try to get rid of them and keep the other plant!

Before:
We even have (green) tomatoes!
As usual, I'm always amazed at how fast things grow!
Enjoy your week! :-)
