Christmas Tree

Oh, my goodness!!!  It's almost Christmas!!

We finally our tree on Sunday.

Here's K fixing up the tree.

Decorating!

Each year the kids get an ornament from K's parents.  Here they are looking at their collections.

All lit up!

I got the front wreath done.

And we got some snow.
(Notice the table.)

(I moved the table for easier snow removal.)

Last week we had a lot of snow days.  School (and work) was let out 2 hours early on Monday; had an hour delay on Tuesday; let out 2 hours early on Thurs (along with work); and everything was closed on Friday with blowing snow and temps down to Neg 30C (Neg22F) with the wind chill!

Winter has begun early this year!

N had his Christmas concert last Wednesday evening.  Here he is (on right) with his friends after.
C has her school concert today.
The last day of school is Dec 22.

Have a great day! :-)

Christmas Decorations

Hello!
I like to decorate for Christmas after American Thanksgiving. We got the decorations out last weekend and have them all put out now.

Here's the front of the house.
(No, we still haven't finished the porch ceiling :-(  )

The left side of the porch.
I stuck two wreaths together up there!  Not sure if I'll leave both or just one or the other, but either way, it needs some fresh greenery!  The snowmen keep falling over and I'll have to move that chair somewhere so it doesn't get in the way of snow removal later on.

Here's the other side.  C made the snowman last year in 4H.

On to the front room.

Whenever I pick the greenery for the wreath, I'll get some for the indoors too.  Maybe I can do it this weekend.  A garland would look nice over the window.
I put an old chocolate tin on the table for mittens. Right now there's just one stray one!

This went from "Happy Fall, Y'all!!" to "Happy Halloween Fall, Y'all!!" to "Happy Thanksgiving, Y'all!!" to:
C and I will do a Christmas one soon!

I have some fall decor to take out to the shed.  That white door is the door that will go between our master bedroom and bath!  It's too tall now and needs to be trimmed.

Santa Hat!

In the kitchen, I've hung the stockings (and Gecko has a red scarf!)

Christmas-y Pot holders.

C's 4H project this month.

Some crafts by the kids and my mom.

I still love these little trees

We even decorate the bathroom!
I put delicate glass ornaments of the window (where there are normally stained glass sailboats).  This way, if when our Christmas tree falls over, they are safe!

I change out our sailboat pics for some Christmas art.

I got this soap holder at Value Village last year.
I like how the green ties in with the pictures.

We got a cute cat towel from my parents last year, too.

Now, here's the back room.

The last couple mornings, when I raised the blind for this window, I was surprised by the little animals there hiding behind the blind!
"Oh, Hello there!"

K's sister is in town from Ontario and they went to Bedford, NS yesterday to visit their Uncle and Aunt.  They gave us this star tree topper that fits perfectly on the secretary.
We'll cut our tree later, so in the meantime, this is perfect!

Enjoy your weekend! :-)

Breezeway

Hi!
We got some more snow! Yesterday was a snow day! Although, today the snow is melting away....
Tomorrow is a PD day off for the kids, so it's a long weekend.

With the hot water and pressure tanks moved into the new utility closet, the breezeway is more cleared out now. But  goodnes, it's still a mess!

I cleaned it up a bit,
Ha! It doesn't look much better!

Here you can see the tanks before.

And now.

Top half.

Bottom half.

So, there's still lots of work to do.  Our plan is to re-do the whole thing in the spring!

First Snow!

Hi!
Hope all those in the US had a great Thanksgiving last Thursday!

We had our first snow overnight!
We were kinda expecting it, but not really so much!
The kids had an hour delay for school today, so that was nice.

Last Sunday the kids were out raking leaves,

and here's what it looks like now!
Pretty!

Also, last Saturday, we got the last bit of raspberries from our bushes!
This is the latest in the year that I remember getting berries.

I expect this snow will melt away in a bit, although we may get some more snow tomorrow!  The yard was cleaned up and ready for winter, except for a few things over by the courtyard that need to go to the Waste Watch. Maybe I'll get that done sometime this week....

Have a great day! 😃
