Outdoor Pics

 Hi!

My dad and stepmom have gone home now.  C and I drove them to Halifax on Thursday to catch their early morning flight on Friday.  We had a great visit and were sad to see them leave!

I took a lot of pictures outside yesterday.
Starting from the back yard, here's how the pool is looking.
We drained the pool before C's party and filled it again.  But it's been hot and is getting green where the blue part covers the water, so we're about to put it away for the summer.

Here's the herb garden on the right hand side.

Here's how it looked when I planted the herbs July 11.

And here's the garden on the left hand side.  All the herbs except the parsley have started flowering.  And you know what?  We never even used any herbs! (except maybe once..)

First planted.

Here's the pumpkin patch.

It made lots of flowers, but so far only this one tiny pumpkin!

Here's looking over toward the playhouse.

Back corner of the yard.

Dad weeded the patio.  It looks nice and neat.

The side yard with raspberries on the left.  We're starting to get some berries!

Still no work done on moving the fence back.

Toward the courtyard, which has become a boat yard.

Look how much the Virginia Creeper has creeped!

Left side of courtyard.

Right side.

Side view of creeper.

Here it is at the end of May!

Right Side front garden on the right.

Corner.

Can you believe this is how it looked in May?

Left.

Front of the house.

Front garden, right. The hydrangeas are  kinda blooming, but they seem to be later than everyone else's.

Front garden, left.

Beginnings of the circle drive.  It takes a lot of space for a car to turn a circle!

Shed.

Abandoned canoe.

Trailer (and Lilly).

My dad and FIL picked so many blueberries!  I am still sorting them!

Also, a few more pics!
C in the big chair at Scooter's Dairy Bar.

N at sailing camp (in yellow life jacket).

All the sailing boats in the Charlottetown harbour.

Today K and N have gone to a regatta in C'town.

Have a great day! :-)

Gardens/ Yard

Hi!

I've been doing a lot of yard work and have broken our rake.  The handle was quite bowed, and that was ok, but now the metal has broken.  I guess we need a new one!

Here are our junk piles- out in the front for all to see.

It's actually, not that much.  I think one (or maybe 2) trips to the Waste Watch will be rid of it.
(I've spread it out to kill the grass so I can dig it up!)

Here is the front side yard.

And here's the turn around spot.

The gardens are doing well.  Here's the courtyard.
Since we have a lot of leftover trellis, I may put one in front of the garbage cans and divide a hosta to put in front of the trellis. It would really look nice with a tall cedar in front, like on the other side. But, we're not sure how long we'll keep that building there on the right so it might not make sense to plant another tree just yet.

Here's the left side of the courtyard.

And the ferns on the right that are hidden by the trash cans.

Here's the right side garden.

The right front garden.

The left front garden.
Did I mention before about the plant above in front of the hydrangea bush?  It's grown so much, but the one on right hasn't grown much at all... I guess I'll just leave it for this year, but I'm thinking of just putting a hosta plant in its place on the right side.

I guess this would be the left side garden
There are 2 hosta plants that could be divided under the lilac bush, which is almost blooming!

Here's the side of the trailer.
The rose bush is looking pretty sad.  I may as well dig it up.  The lupines that are supposed to grow in front of the back of the trailer have all migrated to the side where the old deck used to be.

That's the yard update for this week! :-)
