Plant Stand

Mornin!

I'm off to a good start today. I was up, got the kids off to school and was home from my walk all before 9am!

However, I'm again at a loss as to what project to post. I'm about to search for pictures...

I found a bunch of pictures of the back addition, but I'll do a little spray paint project.  This was an old ash tray taken from somewhere by HH's dad in Toronto in the 1960's or 70's.   It had been in our storage shed for years and got all rusty.
This was my first ORB (Oil Rubbed Bronze) paint project. I had heard so much about this great paint, but could never find it! Finally Canadian Tire got some new paints and I was able to try it out! (I couldn't find it on Canadian Tire's site so the link is from Walmart.)

Here it is after, all pretty with a plant on it since we don't need to use it as an ashtray.
Here is is again, on it's side with a tray on top (and a cute moss bird!).

I liked the bigger table top, so looked around and came across this old white tray I got from my MIL.  Since ORB is ok to paint on plastic, I gave it a go!

And ran out of paint before I could do the bottom.  Here it is in our back breezeway.
The table lived in HH's office for a while, but the side of the tray got knocked and broke.  So, I replaced it with a lazy-susan (also from MIL!) The lazy-susan fits perfectly!

Fortunately, I was able to glue the side piece of the tray back on with E6000 glue which is made in Pineville, LA where my dad and stepmom live!  So, here it is back on again but still not painted.

Now I'm not sure which I like better- the tray or lazy-susan? I will have to think about this! And when it gets warmer, I can paint the top to match the bottom! :-)
