Hi! Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadians! I'm almost used to having a Thanksgiving so early after having been here almost 20 years! Although it still seems a bit odd! And we do "celebrate" the American Thanksgiving in Nov. by taking a family photo. :-)
It was a nice weekend. The kids were at the grandparents and we had dinner there last night.
Friday I taped up the trunk and used up almost all my seemingly neverending supply of painters tape! It took me 2 shows to get it all taped up. (I watched Glee- It was ok, I got sad at the end when Mr. Shuster started to cry. And Breaking Bad, S05E05. I was late to BB and HH had already been watching it. I started watching probably in Sep. When the finale came out, HH wanted to watch it with me, so he encouraged me to "Hurry up!" I had a few marathon days, skipped Season 3, but read the plot, and am now up to Season 5. I thought HH & I would watch it together, but he had already watched the first 8 episodes already. So, I'm almost caught up and we'll watch the end together! The last season is just ok, I think I liked it better at the beginning, though.) Here's the trunk after all that taping!
After all that, it took about 3 minutes to spray paint.
When I took the paint off, I didn't like it! I thought the silver hammered paint would sorta blend with the shiny silver, but I think it looks too blue or something.
I left it for the weekend, but will probably re-do it. I have some metallic latex paint that I may make into chalk paint with plaster. That'll be easier and I won't have to re-tape!
HH also helped me put up the drywall on the ceiling in the hall. It's kinda hard to see it, but it's up there past the light.
Last week, the glass light cover for that light got broken. I had bought it at the Restore a long while back. It had been screwed up in our bedroom and we finally got it hooked up in the hall. However, the globe hadn't been put up because the fixture still needed to be screwed in a bit better. It was sitting on the dresser in the hallway/closet and HH accidently knocked it over. :-(
Now I'll have to find or DIY another one! This rope light might look good!
And I just read a book, JUNK genius, from the library about putting glass shards (after sanding the edges, of course!) on top of your plants' dirt. So I may do that with some of the broken pieces!
Have a great week! :-)
