Hi!
We had a busy weekend- re-arranging the kids' rooms. We switched beds so C got the bunk beds and N got the double bed.
Here are some pics of N's room. I think it looks more "grown up" now.
Here's the new view from the door to the left hand corner.
This is standing in the right hand corner looking at the wall to the right of the door.
This is the same wall before, but not looking so far into the corner.
(These before pics of both rooms are old- they've re-arranged at least once since then, but I didn't take pics!)
Here's standing in the left hand corner looking toward the door.
Here's sitting on the bed looking at the right hand corner.
This is before, standing at the door.
This is a before with a more straight on view.
The lockers have moved to where the dresser once was.
Now onto C's room. Here's looking from the door into the left hand corner.
We re-did the rooms while the kids were gone to the in-laws. It wasn't a complete surprise because we'd been talking about it and had already moved the top part of the bunk bed out of N's room into the kitchen. Anyway, after C got home she moved her posters around so they look better.
Here's that same corner way before. No posters or anything!
Here's the right hand corner with the new bunk beds!
Here's that corner before.
This is the corner opposite the door.
A before pic.
And finally looking back toward the door.
I put up some hooks for her towels behind the door.
Here's how it used to look.
It was really nice because we didn't have to buy anything new. I got a few old things out that we hadn't used in a while- like the old bedskirt for N's single bed for the foot of his new bed
and his old fitted single sheet that had a rip in it to use for the side of the bed skirt.
Also, I'd bought a double duvet cover a few years ago for his bottom bunk that now fits his bed perfectly. The old single quilt that he used for his top bunk is folded at the foot of his bed.
When the double bed was in C's room it was really high so a standard bed skirt didn't fit. We used a white eyelet ruffled one and then 2 curtains over top to conceal the funny middle fabric. Since the bunk bed isn't so high, I was able to use the white one on one side where the ladder is.
And I used just one curtain part for the foot of the bed.
It's still a bit messy. I have to figure out how to make the white bedskirt go around the ladder. I may have to cut it and do some sewing!
I used the other curtain for her closet.
N's bottom sheet is just a flat flannel sheet that fits a queen bed. We're using C's double sheets for her top bunk and I have an extra single set for her bottom bunk. I'm only sorry that I gave away the single sheet set that went with her quilt. I didn't think we'd need it again so I only kept one set that's kinda girly but not too much. I figured it'd be more versatile. Anyway, the kids both need new sheets anyway...
Have a great week! :-)
