Mornin!
It seems like things are just getting so busy lately. When weekends are busy (like this past one) I tell myself, it's not so bad because I've got all week to do stuff I want. ;-) But now the weeks are getting busy too! I think I'll have to go to the kids' school everyday this week. Tonight I have a Home & School meeting; tomorrow's the book fair I 'm working at in the morning; Wed is Toast; Thurs is a Remembrance Day Concert (DD is singing in the choir); and Fri is Parent-Teacher Interviews! That seems busy to me. I'm just so glad I get to be home to do all these things (plus still have time for other stuff!) This week there's no school on Friday (for interviews) or next Monday (for Remembrance Day).
Friday, DD had 2 friends over til 8. She wanted to have a sleepover, but it's just too much to get them to bed at a decent hour! DS went to his grandparents' for the night. Saturday, I took DD to skating, then went to town to drop her off at the grandparents' for the night and pick up DS. We watched "E.T." that night. It was good, kinda like I remembered it! Sunday, I took DS to town for swimming, then picked up DD. We went back to the pool to get DS and for DD's lesson. Next week is the last swimming lesson.
I was able to get a little work done this weekend. I sanded the drywall and put what I think may be the final coat of mud on!
It's possible I could prime and paint today! I'm doing a board and batten in the hall with some extra 1x3's I happen to have lying around, so that should be fun! It'll look kinda like this:
I do wish the other hall wall was up so I could take down the curtains!
(What's behind those curtains, you ask? Well, I'll show you!
It's HH & my clothes, my nice dresser that will eventually go in the front room being used as a work bench and lotsa construction stuff!)
The main reason for the delay in getting that wall up is because I wanted to do some sort of pocket door for the washer-dryer and I think that needs special framing. Or maybe we could do something like this:
However, since the hall isn't that wide, I'd like to have the pipe inside the closet. So, you wouldn't be able to see it. It would look like it was going into the wall, but really it would be running into the master bedroom closet.
I made a really good pumpkin loaf recipe on Sunday. Except I made it in a 9x9 pan so it's more dessert-like. It's funny because I had checked out the book
that the recipe is in from the library a while back, but never made anything from it. I was cleaning out the freezer and I had some pumpkin I froze last year that I wanted to use up. So, I googled pumpkin loaf and that's what I found!
Have a great week! I'm off to do some final (I hope!) sanding and maybe painting! :-)
