Hello!
It's been a while since I've written. We had a long weekend with no school for the kids on Friday and no school or work yesterday for Remembrance Day. It's also been a while since I've walked. Last week I think I missed Tuesday, but made it out on Thursday. I skipped Friday, went Saturday and skipped yesterday. It's raining this morning so I haven't gone yet. It's supposed to be raining all day so I may skip today too.
So, I'm doing my re-cap today and my menu tomorrow.
Here's what I've been working on:
The hall wall! Here it is this morning with the drywall mudded.
Here's how it looked last week. A wall of curtains.
So, I framed up the wall and put the drywall up.
I got the drywall up around the door to the front room.
And used some plywood to make a "hidden" door to the linen closet (behind DD's closet.)
I also worked on the pocket door to the laundry!
I built a guide for the door on the top,
And thought we'd use castors on the bottom.
But those weren't ideal because they swiveled.
HH had the great idea to cut up an old pool liner and use that for the door to slide on.
So, HH cut out a piece and we tested it out on the floor. It worked! So, I cut 4 more pieces to go on both sides of the bottom guide and both sides of the top guide. Here's the floor guide in the pic below. And with the door pushed all the way in, you can see the guide on the bottom back. We'll put a door knob on the door so it won't actually slide all the way in. The other bottom guide is on the inside of the hall wall. Luckily, the pool liner sorta matches the stripes on the floor!
Here's the top guide.
It slide pretty well, but it's a bit hard for the kids to do.
In other news, our neighbors got a couple horses about a month ago. When you look out our back windows, you can see them eating their hay in the back field. It's fun. Can you make out the horse? It's that black/dark brown blob!
Have a great week! :-)
