Ah, what a wonderful time of year! The grass is starting to grow, it's warming up outside and there are no bugs!
We had a nice weekend. I purposely tried to have more of a relaxed attitude so it was good. The kids probably played more Minecraft than I would've liked, but they were also outside...
And inside...
doing fun things! Since this wall will be torn down to open up the space between the kitchen and back room, I didn't mind the kids tagging it with DS's marker spray paint kit he got for Christmas! DS and DD were also reading this blog on Friday and DS even helped with the door pictures!
Since the kids were busy, it allowed me to almost finish up the back room windows. I taped around the outside to paint a moulding around the windows.
However, as I'd like the windows to appear higher, I think I'll extend the white Semi-gloss paint up to the height of the door. Then when the blinds are closed, the windows will look to be the same height. I guess I'd never really used semi-gloss paint. (My walls are mostly flat and I guess the trim is Satin.) It really is so shiny and pretty. I can't imagine using full-on gloss!
I found the little cleats to hold the window blind cords. I only found 3 dark ones that go with these blinds and the rest are old and silver. I was going to spray paint the silver ones, but my spray paint can is clogged. :-( With Rust-oleum's new nozzle, you can spray from any angle, but it's hard to clear out so once you've used the can once, it's pretty much done. I was going to use this, but in Oil Rubbed Bronze. Also, in order to put the cleats where they need to go, I'll have to trim 5 blinds. It's not hard with the big mitre saw- just something I've kinda been putting off.
I'd also been putting off doing the trim and painting on the window behind the bed, but since the other windows were done, I moved the bed out and did it. I'll extend the "paint moulding" up today and then move the bed back so I can go and re-do the other windows to look higher.
We never got around to painting DS's door. DS had a friend over and the time never seemed right so I'll finish that up this morning.
We've got another busy week. Dr's appt's for the kids this afternoon, a meeting for me tonight, Cubs for DS tomorrow, Computer club at school with HH on Wed , and Dentist appt's on Thurs (which I think I'll reschedule...)
Have a great week! :-)
