Speaker Stands (Kreg Jig Project #2)

Hi!

Tomorrow is (Canadian) Thanksgiving.  It's a day off for everybody.  I had to work yesterday (Sat), so it's nice to have the extra day with the family.

Last week, I made my second Kreg Jig project.- speaker stands!

I had in my mind I'd make these a long time ago.
I mentioned it here last year in Sep. when we raised the speakers up on milk crates.

It was a pretty simple project- just a box- that required lots of drilling holes and screwing.
I got to use up some plywood that I'd been saving.  K had ripped the plywood at the beginning of the summer, so I just had to cut it to length using the miter saw.  I used the outdoor table for my work bench.

After a bit of work, here's how the boxes looked.

I tried one out- perfect fit for the speaker and records! When the records were in the crates, they couldn't stand upright but now they can!

(I put the top of the $3 bench on the side table to better hold the keyboard. I may paint it...)

The plain wood color of the plywood box was too light so I painted the inside with chalkboard paint and the outside I "white washed" with brown paint (leftover from when the bathroom vanity was brown).

Here's the final result.
I rearranged the stuff on the walls to better accommodate the guitar on the wall.
Here it is last Sep.
So far, nobody has noticed!

Have a great Thanksgiving or Veteran's Day! :-)
