Hi!
We made it through the weekend! Today we are expecting freezing rain and then rain! Aaahh, the weather! The one good thing about frigid cold temps is that when it "warms" up to Neg 10C, it feels warm and such a relief!
I went out on Saturday to get some pics and even though I was wearing my normal gloves (see one in the photo below!) my hands were freezing!
Here's another picture of the roof.
HH went out to remove some snow. That wall on the right is 7 feet tall and that's the top of it!
HH also went out and used the snow thrower remove the snow from the back breezeway door. Now we can go the back yard directly instead of walking around from the front.
Here are HH and DS hanging out in the snow!
DS up on the breezeway roof. Eventually both kids used that as a launching spot for sledding!
Yesterday the kids went out and made a snow cake with some food colouring.
With the snow day Friday, I got a little project done. I lined the back of the wardrobe pantry with striped wallpaper I picked up at the Salvation Army a while back. I just taped it up.
Then, I decided to line the shelves.
And here it is all finished.
Here's how it looked before.
We watched Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi this weekend! I was kinda surprised how much the kids enjoyed it. And me, too. I'd seen them before, but can't imagine I saw the first one when I was only 6 in 1977. I must've seen it later? Anyway, I didn't remember the whole story so it was fun to see again. And it was really good quality for such an old movie, it didn't feel "old". I think they maybe did some work when it was digitized or something. DS especially liked it and thought "Return of the Jedi" was "awesome!".
The kids had their Sunday School Christmas performance at church yesterday. It had been cancelled from Dec 22. Both kids did a great job. This year was DD's first year to have a speaking part. Before, she had always been too shy!
Have a great week! :-)
