Tasty Tuesday (plus side table and trunk and doorway)

Hi again!

It looks like I'll end up only posting about once a week in the summer.

It's been hot so we went to Cavendish beach yesterday.

And we've been enjoying the pool (in our wetsuits b/c the water is cold!)

Here's the menu plan for this week:

• Mon- Whole Wheat Macaroni, Sugar snap peas w/ onions, garlic, mozzarella and parmesan
• Tues-Caribbean Composed Salad (Vegetable Heaven p 14) Slow Cooker Lentils and Tomatoes (adapted from Soft Lentils w/ roasted tomatoes and carmelized onions Vegetable Heaven pg 70), Coconut rice (Vegetable Heaven pg 83)
• Wed-Crunchy Salmon, Quinoa (H&H Sep 2011) Lemon Pepper Salmon, Potatoes
• Thurs- Haystacks Frozen Punjabi Chicken, Rice, Salad
• Fri-Pizza Mac & Cheese, Leftover Monday Pasta
• Sat- Ramen w/ Eggs  Leftovers
• Sun-Tilapia, Potatoes, Frozen Cornbread Dinner at Inlaws BBQ Beer Chicken, Lobster

Last Year's meal plan:

• Mon- Perogies
• Tues-Bean Cakes
• Wed-Scallops
• Thurs- Spinach Filled Pasta, Beets
• Fri- Leftovers
• Sat-Salmon
• Sun- Takeout Fish from Dillon's

The home improvement projects have slowed down. I did spray paint the rest of the blind pull holders and the top of the ashtray table.I decided to go with the lazy susan top instead of the tray which is under a plant. Here's how it looked before:

I've also started stripping the paint off the blue trunk we've been using as a coffee table.  Here it is in the living room.

And here it is outside. It's still got some leftover stripper on it., but underneath it is SO shiny!  I've got to got to get some more paint remover today when we got run errands.

Oh, and did I mention we widened the doorway between the kitchen and back room? Here you can see I've got some coats and my purse hung up on the lefthand side of the dark grey wall.

And here it is today. I didn't clean up or anything so it's a bit messy.  I figure when we start using our front door, the back door won't be so cluttered!  We'll see...

 I'm debating whether to put a sliding barn door on this wall so we can close it off if needed. I like how this door is hung.  The space is about 4 ft wide so we may have to custom make a door. Plus,  I've still got to finish the drywall, mouldings, etc.
