I went around and took pics of the yard.

Front Room Closet/ Back Side Door

Hi!
I can't believe it's Wednesday, already!

We had a belated Mother's Day Lunch on Sunday since my MIL was out of town on May 8.  We picked up some Lobsters for the grown ups and chicken strips for the kids, plus fries and rolls.  My MIL made potato salad and cole slaw and dessert- chocolate cake and lemon squares.  It was nice.

I've made some progress on the front room closet.

It was a mess.

I had already cut two 3/8" plywood pieces for the back.  They were cut for width, but I had to cut one for height.

I had to finish taping up the plastic.

And figure out that wall on the left.

This is it with the plywood installed on the back wall.

Here you can see the angled part of the wall that will be between the master bathroom and the closet. It's on the left.

I took a break, then installed the drywall on the right.

And I got the last piece of plywood up on the angled part of the ceiling/wall.
Of course there are still a lot of things to do... But it's progress!

I finally put up the trim around the back side door.
Here's a picture of the door from Halloween, 2015.  That red tuck tape had been like that for years!!!

The door looks much better now!
So far it's been 3 days and no one has even noticed!
I did a bit of the caulking, but ran out of the tube I was using so I still need to finish that up and then paint!

Have a great day!

Between some Ferns (Courtyard/Shed)

Well, Hello again!

With the nice weather over the weekend, I got some work done outside.
Including moving some ferns from the courtyard and moving the trashcans over.
This was taken last June.
I liked the ferns there, but wanted to scoot the trash cans over, so when we look out the side master bedroom window we don't see them.
Notice the buried stones in front of the ferns made from bags of concrete that got left out and hardened.

Here's the messy courtyard a couple weeks ago.

This is looking from the Pineapple Door.

 Here's the courtyard now.
(Still a bit messy since our Recycling goes out on Friday and K is figuring out where to keep the gas cans for the boat.)
I moved the fence back.
Right now we have our old BBQ (which will also go out on Friday with the Recycling) in front of it.
There has been some progress on the step removal behind the orange cone.  K has moved lots of dirt over.
Here it is before.

More pics of the other side of the courtyard.

Where did the ferns go? you ask.
I moved the ferns under the spruce tree by the shed.
I also dug up the concrete bag stones and just placed them around the ferns. There are too many Spruce roots to bury them...
I hope the ferns like it here!
K has been clearing the area behind the shed.
It gets quite overgrown! This is it last October.

Have a great day! :-)

Mother's Day Weekend

Hi!

Happy Monday!  Hope you had a good weekend/Mother's Day!

For Mother's Day yesterday, K fixed a lovely pancake brunch in the morning and then in the afternoon, he took the kids to town to pick up some Thai food for dinner!

I put my lovely pansies on the front porch.
I like how the yellow pot ties into the yellow of the flower.  I think that will be my accent color this year.

Last week, C participated in Music Monday with her school choir.
It was held at Credit Union Place in Summerside.  There were lots of musical acts, including this giant choir of over 450 students from different schools across the Island, including C, who sang 3 songs together.

Have a great week! :-)

Patio/Breezeway

Hi!

I've slowed down on my blogging... Not sure why exactly?  Maybe because I've got no new projects on the go and the things I'm doing are just the regular things I do every year....

Such as clean up the patio.
Here it is a couple days ago.

We had a great weekend, weather wise so I cleaned up all the dead branches, leaves, etc. from the back and front gardens.
I moved the little lavender plant (again) because it was getting crowded by the hardy oregano.  I moved it beside the sage and chives.
I took our patio table  inside the breezeway for the winter.  It's in the above picture laying on its side, upside down. When I took the legs off, I remember thinking, "I must keep track of these nuts, so I'll put them in a little baggie".  However, now I can't find it and I'm wondering why I didn't just screw the nuts onto the bolts on the legs!

I cleaned out the breezeway.
This is the "After"!

Inside the courtyard's pineapple door, is this little space that leads to K's office.
It's also cleaned up, but still, so much junk!

The angled shelf is new....

And here is our crazy tool bench!

I hung out our first load of laundry to dry on Saturday!
We're a bit ahead of last year's weather, snow-wise.

There was no school on Friday for the kids and the same this week! N is sick today with a fever so he's home with me. ;-(

Hope you are healthy and have a great week! :-)
