Fall Decor

Hi!

The kids came home from school early yesterday after a bomb threat was faxed into Ottawa! All the schools were searched and nothing was found....

In more fun/boring news, I got my fall stuff out for the front porch.
Since I got rid of the flower boxes, I put all my faux foliage into the basket that stays out on the porch. I put the hanging baskets back up like last year.

On the other side, is C's scarecrow from 4H last year.

Inside, I put a couple things out, including C's pumpkins from 4H.
The space is still looking bare though.  Don't you think it could use some flowers/weeds from the yard?

I haven't done anything on the chalkboard fall (or back to school) related.  When we got rid of C's Birthday Message, I just quickly put up a calendar for September.

No school tomorrow for the kiddos, so it's a long weekend!
Have a good one! :-)

Musical Chairs (with Tables)

Hi!
I'm back again!

Besides being busy with family stuff this summer,  I've done a few things around the house.
One little thing is, I moved some tables around.

This little table that I made many years ago, was on the front porch.

I moved it inside by the couch.

The sewing machine was there before.

I moved it to the master bedroom,

where the black iron table used to be.

And, the black table got moved to the front porch!

Enjoy your day! :-)

Front Flower Boxes

Hello again!

I've been having problems with the front flower boxes.

The left flower box had fallen down and it was kinda fixed but would get wonky every once in a while.  Then last week, the one on the right collapsed!

I've got to decide whether to repair these ones or make new ones?
Perhaps like the ones in the back?

Hmm... Something to think about!

Have a great day! :-)

Front Porch/ Front Garden

Hi!
How was your weekend? Ours is still going, as today is Victoria Day- a day off for everybody! I had to work in Kensington on Saturday, so it feels like Sunday today.

The trees are starting to green up and the grass is growing.
Can you see the little green leaves on the birch trees?

The Lilac bush is growing

and so is the Juniper!
I've put away all the winter coats, but still haven't gotten the summer clothes out yet!
The black flies are here now, so I'm glad I got some plant dividing done!

I did some spray painting last week.
See that white metal basket thing on the table?

That's what I painted.

I'd planned on painting it white again, but I got out my white spray paint a couple days ago and couldn't find it when I went looking!
So, I did it hammered silver.

I'd noticed that the grey porch light (pay no attention to the unfinished porch ceiling) tied in to the grey ribbon on the flower.

So I thought the hammered silver would tie in as well.
However, now I think the table needs to be white!
Oh, the projects are neverending! :-)

I also got the front flower boxes filled with fake flowers.

I don't mind the fake foliage there too much, since I don't have to keep it watered!

The garden below looks so sad!

Instead, I expanded the front garden on the left.
Here's the garden last June, 2015.

Now, it's expanded in the front and the left side.

I divided these plants on the right side to put there!
(This pic was taken last year.)

Here's the right side now, after dividing the plants.

And here's the left side.
That big plant in the middle is growing so well on this side, which gets light in the morning.
I may have to divide it and move some over to the right side, where it's not doing so well.
I will get some mulch this week.  I only need to mulch this new part and a bit over by the courtyard.

Have a fantastic day! :-)

Mother's Day Weekend

Hi!

Happy Monday!  Hope you had a good weekend/Mother's Day!

For Mother's Day yesterday, K fixed a lovely pancake brunch in the morning and then in the afternoon, he took the kids to town to pick up some Thai food for dinner!

I put my lovely pansies on the front porch.
I like how the yellow pot ties into the yellow of the flower.  I think that will be my accent color this year.

Last week, C participated in Music Monday with her school choir.
It was held at Credit Union Place in Summerside.  There were lots of musical acts, including this giant choir of over 450 students from different schools across the Island, including C, who sang 3 songs together.

Have a great week! :-)

Hello!

Hi again!

Another week has gone by....
Still no major home projects on the go, although I did get the flower decoration put up on the left of the door.
The flower box on the left hand side of the porch railing fell down yesterday. A few weeks ago, the one on the right fell down, so now I've got to figure out a better way to keep them where they belong!

The weather has been nice.
K has been doing lots of boating.
Across the road from our house is a field.

If you go through the woods on the right, you get to the water.

Last week, K put the boat in at the landing down the road and brought the boat up to this spot so we can just walk down to get to the boat.

Friday afternoon, K, N & I went for a little ride.

We saw a Bald Eagle, but he (she?) flew out of the picture!

Here's K paddling to get us out of the shallow water.

C wasn't with us because she went to a friend's house after school. Then she had a 4H party at the Bowling Hall until 9:00!

Saturday night, K and I went to Charlottetown for dinner at Papa Jo's and to see Scott Thompson (from Kids in the Hall).  He was funny!

Yesterday, K and N put the boat in at the landing and then N drove the boat all by himself from the landing to the woods.  Plus, he drove the car in the field! (K had driven the car down the side of the field so they could bring the electric motor back to the house.)

Have a wonderful week! :-)

Update

Hi!
Wow!  It's been almost 1 1/2 weeks since I've written!
How's it going?  I was sick last week with a sore throat so, I haven't done many projects.

Last Wednesday, C's school had their Heritage Fair.
C teamed up with her friend to do a project on the History of Gymnastics in PEI.

N had Beginner Band Day on Thursday.  This was a showcase where all the beginner bands from PEI got together in Summerside to play.  It wasn't a competition.  N's band has 20 members and one band has 117!  They had to dress up and N did not want his picture taken!

We had a nice weekend. Friday was a day off school plus K took the day off, so it was a long one.

The weather was sunny and warm yesterday, 10C (50F), so K and the kids took the little motor boat out for a ride.
I didn't take any pictures, but here's the boat after.
Fishing season started Friday, so the water was busy.

K started digging in the front for the circle drive.

We're working on taking out these steps.

I hung up the flower wreath (temporarily) yesterday,
but it fell down.  I need to re-attach the ribbon.
You can still see it under the driftwood hanger.
I took the evergreens out of the window boxes.
The front of the house looks so blah!
Maybe this is the year I paint the front door!

Have a great week! :-)
