Master Bedroom

Hiya!

We are enjoying March Break this week.  Today we are expecting a snow storm!

When I moved the stuff around in the back room,

I also moved stuff in the master bedroom.

I moved the bottom half of the secretary to the side of the bed.

It's a bit woody now with the dresser also natural, so the secretary may get painted. 

Here's a pretty one.

Here's the sewing table that was there before. 

The table ended up in the back room.

C's Week (and St. Patrick's Day)

Hi!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

C has had a busy week this week.  

First, she had a 4H Communications night on Monday.

She did a speech on gymnastics.

(Excuse the blurry pic.)

It was a very informative night with lots of great speeches and demonstrations.

 Then, on Wednesday, C presented her Science Fair project, "Optical Illusions- How to Build an Infinity Mirror" with her partner. 

Fantastic job on both, C!!

Next week is March Break so it will be a well deserved break.

Back Room Re-arrange

Hi!

I moved some stuff around in the back room.

However, as you can see by the wonky cabinet, it's not all the way finished.

I'm going to hang the top part of the secretary on the wall.

Like so,

Then the keyboard will tuck underneath.

There was a mirror behind the secretary that we're going to use in the master bath!

Moving the keyboard has cleared out this corner.

I'm not sure if that black-topped table will stay there, though...

We have 3 (actually 4, but one's broken) bentwood stools that move around the room, so the little one in front of the table isn't there "permanently."

Here's the more crowded corner before, but doesn't this picture look nice?

N's Closet

Hi again!

I haven't been working on too many projects, but one thing I've been doing is

some work on N"s closet.

This is a little nook. 

It will serve as a ladder for our attic access!

Oh, and look!  The floor is done! 

That was a few weeks ago.

Here's some more current progress.

The drywall is cut for the left side.

We got a generator so K has been doing some wiring in the back part.

I have a big piece of drywall for the right of the electric box, but there is still some wiring to do here.

It looks a little dangerous, but it's perfectly safe! ;-)

This work clears out the drywall that was being stored in the master bath.  We're making our plans for the bathroom, which couldn't come at a better time.  Our lone bathroom is quite busy in the mornings and nights with a teenager, a tween and two adults!

Hi!

It's March already!

We've had a few storm days.  This happened back on Feb. 15 and 16.

There was no school on the 16th and 17th.

 

C built a fort.

  N got out too!

Valentine's Day

Hi!

We are finally getting some winter here!  

We had two more snow days on Monday and Tuesday

We're expecting another 25 cm (9 inches) overnight tonight! 

Funny snow drift in the front corner of the house. 

C and I got our Valentine's stuff out on Monday.

I didn't have a special meal planned for dinner, but with a table cloth and the nice dishes, the fish curry turned out nice. 

During the snow days, I got into making some cards.  This one, I made the outside in 2012, 

But, I did the inside this year! 

Actually, that was just a test one, but it turned out ok, so I gave it to K. ;-)

When I did cards for the kids, I kept the outside simple.

So the inside would shine!

(FMI (for my information) I used watercolor paint for this and found it was a bit runny.)

Update

Oh, hi!  

I hadn't realized it had been so long since I've written!

We had a couple "ice" days with no-school or work, on Jan 25 and Feb 8.

Those were both Wednesdays. Feb 1, another Wednesday, was a no-school day (for Teacher's Professional Development).  N has after school Senior Band on Wednesdays.  With 2 cancellations and those no-school days, he hasn't had band since before Christmas!  Although, he does still have music class during school, so he hasn't been completely without!

We took a trip to Halifax on Jan 29th to get C's passport.  We stayed at K's Aunt and Uncle's and had a great visit.

We went to the Emera Oval.  It's an outdoor ice skating rink close to downtown Halifax. 

K and C went skating. 

You can borrow skates for free and it's also free to skate! 

C's skates weren't very sharp and she found it hard to skate.  K thought his skates were pretty comfortable! 

He's on the lookout for new ice skates, since the ones he currently has are uncomfortable. Too bad he couldn't have bought those!

We got some snow last night from Storm Niko- about a foot. 

Today is a Professional Development day for the kids (no school anyway) and K's work is also closed.

K is clearing the driveway.

C is clearing the steps!
